| Human psychology has always been fascinating to me. This curiosity has led me into a natural love for subjects such as poetry, literature and philosophy, and these interests have greatly dictated the direction of my artistic exploration. I paint the figure, but though doing so I hope to explore topics as varied as the human psyche allows. I enjoy experimenting with different styles and different means to the creative process. I use photographs, collage and Photoshop as springboards for my final images and will sometimes mix styles in one piece. I am hoping to create images of suggestive narrative and to pose questions to the viewer that will engage them on a more cerebral level, while capturing their initial attention through a more visceral reaction. The consideration of color is a key element in my paintings, while at the same time, I enjoy the bare bones quality employed by black and white film photography. I mainly use photography to capture moments that have touched me in some way, whether seriously or ridiculously. | ||||||||||||||||
